How Coda verification works.

Only Professionals whose credentials have been reviewed appear publicly. Here's what we check — and what verification does not mean.

  1. Step 1
    Identity

    Government-issued ID is checked against the Professional's submitted name and contact info.

  2. Step 2
    Photo

    Profile photo must clearly show the Professional and meet professional standards.

  3. Step 3
    License or credential

    State bar number, CFP®, CPA, mediation certification, or equivalent is reviewed against the issuing body where possible.

  4. Step 4
    Firm & contact details

    Firm name, business address, business email, and phone are checked for consistency.

  5. Step 5
    Insurance / E&O

    Where applicable, professional liability information is reviewed.

  6. Step 6
    Admin review

    A Coda reviewer makes a final judgment before the profile is published.

Verification helps users understand submitted credentials, but it does not guarantee outcomes or replace the user's own decision to hire a Professional.
